From the Sanhedrin to Gaza: The Spirit of Persecution Lives On
By Cupo Cupovski
“You stiff-necked people… You always resist the Holy Spirit!” – Acts 7:51
Long before Nero, before the Roman Empire turned its wrath on the Church, the first blood spilled in the war against Christianity was spilled by the Jews themselves.
The First Persecution: Not Roman — Jewish
It was not Rome that stoned Stephen.
It was not Caesar who hunted down Peter and Paul in the streets of Jerusalem.
It was not pagan philosophers who called for Christ’s crucifixion.
It was the Sanhedrin. The Pharisees. The High Priest.
The religious elite of Judea — operating within a Roman vassal state — who turned their people into tools of terror and suppression.
They used Rome when it suited them, just as they once used Persia to rebuild their temple and secure their political foothold. Always playing both sides, always hiding behind empires — while massacring the innocent.
Jewish Power and the Blood of the Saints
From the time of Christ to the martyrdom of His followers, the pattern was clear:
- Political control + religious manipulation = death for Christians.
- They had their vassal state. They had their priesthood.
- And they used both to silence the truth, kill the righteous, and exalt themselves as godlike rulers.
It’s no wonder that Christ said to them:
“You are of your father the devil... he was a murderer from the beginning.” – John 8:44
History Repeats: Gaza is the New Golgotha
What they did to Christians in the first century — they now do to Palestinians in Gaza.
Once again, they claim victimhood while wielding the sword.
Once again, they cry "defense" as they flatten cities.
Once again, they suppress truth, martyr the innocent, and demand worship of their power, their narrative, their chosen-ness.
The same spirit that killed Stephen lives on in the missiles over Gaza.
The same hatred that crucified Christ fuels their war machines.
Judgment Then — Judgment Again?
In 70 A.D., God allowed Rome to destroy Jerusalem — not because Rome was righteous, but because God is just.
The Temple was burned. The priesthood was shattered.
Because they rejected Christ — and murdered His people.
Today, their new temple is in Tel Aviv and New York.
Their priesthood wears suits and owns banks.
And once again, the innocent cry out from the rubble.
Will judgment come again?
Conclusion: The War Isn’t New — It’s Spiritual
This isn’t about politics.
It’s not about race, borders, or even ancient land claims.
This is about a spirit of persecution that never died.
A rejection of Christ that began 2,000 years ago and still rules in high places.
A war not just against Gaza — but against the very idea of truth, mercy, and the Cross.
And until the world opens its eyes to this,
the cycle of murder will continue.
Jesus is King. Not Netanyahu. Not the Sanhedrin. Not the Rothschilds.
Stay awake.
Stay armed with truth.
